Everyone should experience driving 400 miles in an afternoon to hide in the back of a family minivan to surprise good friends. The looks of shock and subsequent incoherent high pitched babbling are well worth it.
Something else everyone should be able to experience is having the kind of friends that you can sit around a kitchen table with at 1:00 in the morning and discuss the deep things of life. These are the experiences that really give depth to this race we run every day and what really make the difference in the long run. In short, everyone should have people that you are willing to go to great lengths for and who would do the same for you. It really makes life worth living.
